We woke up early to catch our 9am flight to Hawaii. Getting there, and through security went without issue. Our 8 hour flight was nice. We didn’t get lunch on the plane besides a cheese plate and chips, but were able to catch some light breakfast at Little Madeline before we left.

Once we landed we got our car rental and headed to the house. I was in shock during the whole drive from all the beautiful scenery. The trees, the mountains, all different from what I’ve ever seen before. Driving around the smaller streets felt like driving through a tropical jungle. The heat and humidity helped the illusion. We got to our rental house, and loved the location. We were hungry, so a bit grumpy, and quickly headed to the first place we found on Google maps. It was a hole in the wall, dirty establishments serving local Hawaiian plates. We settled on burgers.

We drove around a bit just to get a feel for the area, and ended up at a safeway for groceries. We were worn out from the long flight, and decided to spend the rest of the day relaxing at the house.

Our honeymoon house

The house isn’t the sexiest of places, but it’s right on beach, with it’s our own pier, and an amazing view of Rabbit Island. We walked down to the beach, checked out the pier, and soaked in the views on a bench swing. Brittany cooked a tasty Salmon dinner, and we ended the night with a dip in the hot tub.

Our first day was a lot of travel, but once we got settled in we loved every second of it. Tomorrow we plan on taking pictures of all the rest points we drive by, and go on some walks, and find a better lunch.
